We battled them when DD was in preschool, couldn't get rid of them on her head (then mine too). Finally one of the ladies at the preschool suggested the thing that finally worked and did not burn her delicate skin. I poured Avon Skin So Soft in our hair, rubbed it in completely and then put showercaps on. Slept like that for the night - the two of us slept on the sofa covered with bedsheets. Sheets were laundered each day.
The next morning, dead bugs were coming out like crazy, dead nits had to be combed out but the Skin So Soft did the trick, smelled good too!
Good luck with you battle!

I have had this issue. Combing is the most efficient way to rid yourself of these things along with bagging up everything such as blanets, stuffed toys, and etc... in bags for 3 weeks to make sure anything doesn't survive. Comb, Comb, COmb and buy one of those metal nit combs they are the best hands down!!

Thanks for the advice everybody.
You can hang out with me again.

coconut oil works great to, gives your hair a good conditioning and kills lice. I buy Lice shampoo for chiggers, which we have an abundance of in tennessee.Just take a shower and use the lice shampoo where yu have chiggers and wait a few mins before washing it off, works great, but I used the olive oil when my kids were little and came home with lice, even the word makes my skin crawl.
