Ok ALL my ducks hatched... one turkey hatched monday. Day 28 was Sunday... Two
turkey chicks pipped and started hatching strongly and then died... humidity was a bit high and I had a duck struggling to hatch
at the same time... opened the vents all the way and the humidity went down some and duckling was out about 20 minutes later went from gasping and not moving much to hatched and squacking and lively..
I thought maybe not enough oxygen.... and too much humidity combined... vents are now open humidity aroun 68% and
one turkey egg left... rocking and moving but still no pip.... I dont want this one to die too! Im not sure what to do! Now on day 5 past hatch date...
What would YOU do?!

OK DEEP BREATHS!!

Ducks when hatching should be at 75 to 80% humidity, and at 97.0 degrees. When they pip you need to increase fresh air by 50% but keep your humidity steady.

Turkey eggs can go up to 30 days! You do them just like chickens so your humidity may have been to high for the others earlier. If it were my turkeys I would put my humidity at about 70% and temp at 99.5, and leave them alone! If the temp or humidity was off at any time during incubation that can cause them to hatch late. My humidity fell once, and my chicks were 5 days late!

So have faith, and sit on your hands! If i'm quoting wrong then please someone with more experience chime in!!! (*bump bump nudge nudge*)

GOOD LUCK!! Here i'll send you some good hatching vibes!

Ok so far I have left the little bugger alone. egg is still rocking and bugger is peeping but no pips... .
Temps & humidity dropped 97 / 52 a little low this morning so I opened up and put a warm wet sponge in there and covered the inc with a blanket.
This is frustrating... hatch bate was Sunday the 18th... 3 days before lockdown this one candled iffy with more clear area than the others. When I pulled the lone poult out to the brooder and determined the others were doa pipped about dime sized holes and then died... I candled this one and he was pipped internally and moving so back in the incubator he went.... and Im still waiting. Im really hoping he hatches cause the other poult is currenlty in with the ducklings that hatched, I was hoping for some buddies for him....

I always have at least one duck egg that develops more slowly that the others and candles with more "clear area" - always, despite the fact that I know the humidity and temperature in my Brinsea Octagon 20 incubator are near-perfect.

They just need a little more time that the others. All of my "slowpoke" eggs that were a little bit behind developmentally throughout the incubation period have hatched and are healthy today.

It it were me, if the egg still hasn't pipped, I'd leave it alone. I only help if the chick/duckling/turkey already pipped or started zipping and then has made no progress for at least 24 hours.

Well the egg stopped rocking and chirping last night... so I pipped it open this morning and he was gone.. the shell was super duper thick and it looked like his beak was crossed.. prob not sturdy enough to pip... poor thing... Im so disapointed. I really really was hoping for more turkeys darn it and the singleton is getting confused being in with all his ducking hatchmates.... I noticed his peep has started sounding like a duckling peep and not a turkey peep.... poor confused poult...
