Update - He is home! Prayers Needed Lost/Stolen dog

I'm so sorry to hear this, Corey. I hope everything turns out well for you.

I do have to agree with Gracefulspice. I have had dogs take off in old age and learned through research that often dogs will leave when they know their end is near. It's always hard to lose a pet, but they often know what is best for them.

Good News, He is home!

I spoke with my neighbor when she got home and she had not seem BJ. I felt kind of ashamed for suspecting her but when you are that worried all kinds of thoughts cross your mind.

We had already called all the vets/shealters in our area and put up fliers and could do nothig more than wait. when my dad got home he went outside and yelled for BJ and guess who came up.

BJ has always adored my dad even though the feelings aren't completly mutual. He is home now but still in no better shape. He still have very little energy hardly enough to raise his head or wage his tail. He is emaciated through out his whole bady exept his middle which is as hard and nearly as large as a basketball. We are making an appointment to put him to sleep as soon as possible.

It is my belief that BJ had some how gotten off his lead for the purpose of being on his own to die but he just couldn't resist the call of his daddy. Thankyou all for your support through this physically and emotionally draining day.

It's hard to know what to say in a situation like this..but if it helps, my prayers and thoughts go out to you, your family and especially BJ.

I am glad he is home again, and though you must face giving him a peaceful passing, at least you know he will be in loving arms when it happens.
