UPDATE: PICS
this is "uno" the firstborn. she's a serama. please don't freak out on account of the massive cuteness.
this is a little silkie from an egg my own chickens laid! anyone know what color this might be? she looks like a little pengin to me almost. here's a view from the top:
here's a baby who popped out of an egg given to me by j at sNm poultry. i have nooooo idea what she is!
and here is her sister from the same clutch, she's darker in coloration but very similar.
this is uno, who was just sitting in the bator on saturday evening when i came home. i didn't see the pip, the zip or nothing. just the pretty little chickie drying out in the bottom of the bator.
this is the little silkie right out of her egg. she had some trouble getting out and i ended up helping her because she was too big and couldn't turn herself to "zip." fortunately the procedure went very well and she seems just fine.
okay, that's all for now.
i've got pips in the r-com . . . and it's FULL of serama eggs so keep yur chicken fingers crossed for me.
okay, first of all, there are NO PICS, and i know they are required but i'm working on a last minute asignment and it must get done so be patient with me!
yesterday, out of the blue one of my little silkie serama's hatched out while i wasn't looking!
then . . . nothing.
and this little chick is running around the bator, chirping at the eggs, bonking into them, basically being a little hellion.
i was getting a little worried that nothng else would happen but tonight i have three pips! one is a BIG pip in one of my silkie eggs, headed towards a zip. the other two are smallish. the little chickie who hatched yesterday (uno) keeps running from pip to pip and talking to them. i think she wants a chickie bad! i know how she feels.
(this is all in the LG - the R-com remains quiet . . .)
