UPDATE: My Mil and Fil were talking my brother-in-law to Plano to the Specialist and he ended up being transported to the nearest hospital.

They have found that he has a bad ventricle valve. So, I assuming at this point he has more complications that what was thought. They say the pace maker has to be put in and I am not sure how they repair or replace valves.

I am fixing to head to the hospital now, but would appreciate your prayers.

My BIL (45 yrs old) went to the emergency room after blacking out and the Dr. said that it was his sugar level.

He went for further testing and was informed today that he has to have a pace maker.

My husband is falling apart and I am trying very hard to keep us all together and stay strong and positive.

This is a very big shock to all of us and be would greatly appreciate your prayers.

Thank you all so very much, Cammy

It's amazing what they can do these days. Did you BIL get a second opinion? It wouldn't hurt if he did. What did they say the cause of his blacking out was? Weak heart muscle? It seems that pacemakers are fairly commonplace anymore but there are alot of recent treatments for the heart which when performed, helps the heart so it isn't needed. My mom had a pacemaker/defib which has kept her alive for 10+ years now. So far it hasn't gone off but at least she has something implanted in the event she needs is.

His specialist sent him to another specialist and the new one is the one saying pacemaker. They haven't gotten to run any test on his heart to see how weak it is. All is his appointments were suppose to be in 2 weeks and they are rushing his appointments. He has another one tomorrow with the new specialist.

Well, we are a small town and our emergency Dr. said that his blood sugar dropped and he was fine and sent him home. I told them to get him to another hospital that I just didn't think it was blood sugar. Sure enough it wasn't. I wish it would have been, but I knew it wasn't.

I just feel so sorry for my BIL and my husband. They are both very strong men (on the outside), but they crumble on the inside. I have seen my husband cry a few times in 10 years and never seen my BIL cry. They both broke down today. I keep assuring them that Pacemakers have saved many lives and have given many people a good quality of life. I wish they were more optimistic.

They put a heart monitor on him for 24 hours and he flat lined 12 times. I really don't understand why they don't admit him now.

It makes me feel better to hear about people that have pacemakers and they are doing well. I am so happy that your mom's is working great for her. I wish your family well too and Best Wishes.
