UPDATE on babies!

I posted a couple weeks ago about what breed my black chicks were and some asked for updates so here are some pics. We have had all (except barred rock and brown chick [cant remember name]) 5 weeks. Unsure of age when we got them. Enjoy! The black with brown feathers are by far the friendliest amd cuddliest, the polish are the most asthetic to me.

More pics! Also noticed a bald spot on one of my polish chicks. Ive never raised baby chicks before so is this normal molting? Or a reason for concern?

No, it was something "striped back". Apparently, the babies can be sexed at birth by color. The females have deep stripes down their back. The males are really muted color.

My Cream leghorn, and Ameraucana's had stripes on their backs.. it is sooooooooooo hard for me to tell what baby chicks are by looking at them. Some people are gifted at it.

Remembered the brown is a "striped welbar".
