Well it's been 5-6 days since 2 of the chicks hatched. They seem to be doing well...they are on chick starter and we made a spot for then and mama o. The floor of the coop (I had posted about beds being so high).

There are still lots of eggs that haven't hatched...how long do I wait to remove them?

Also...mama has diarrhea..all water. I read on another forum here different causes but none about new mamas. Does that make a difference? It's been warm here..about 75-85 on most days with nights between 48-60. Is she too hot? Is there just normal for new mama's? Should I be worried?

if there are some eggs that haven't hatched, the chicks may be dead inside. (i am so sorry if i am right!) try pressing the egg to your ear. do you hear movement?
if the mama has diarrhea that means she is stressed. which is natural since she is watching baby chicks. and no, you shouldn't be worried. If she is over heated, she would be stretching her wings out and opening her beak to gasp for cold air. But different chickens get hotter easily than others.
good luck!

I ended up getting rid of the rest of the eggs. From reading responses and posts I think she was all stressed out because she had eggs still...but had babies. Tossed the old ones and she came out yesterday with those two in tow! :) thank you all for the input!
