Update on Daisy the Duck

Hey everyone. A few days ago I made a post about my duck, Daisy, and how she was no longer using her leg. After a trip to the vet we discovered she has the disorder of perosis (a slipped tendon in the leg). Unfortunately, this means she will most likely never be able to use that leg again. The good thing, though, is that it is not causing her any pain or suffering, so she does not have to be culled, and with a bit of help from us, it is something she can learn to live with. I wish it could have been better news, but I feared it would be a lot worse news so I am choosing to view it as luck that she can still live a good life. She has already learned to stand on that leg and has been using her wing to keep balance when she walks, so I'm confident that she's a strong enough girl to live with it.

Thank you. I don't have drakes, but if any of my chickens try to peck, her sister (who's about the size of a goose and the dominant bird in our flock) always defends her.
