Ok, Nugget's been on antibiotics for three days now. She's been kept in the kitchen since then, and she seems to be improving.
Not knowing how a chicken's belly is supposed to feel, I compared her with another chicken but Nugget's belly still feels full of liquid.
I still don't feel any egg. All our vets are out again today.
She's much more alert and vocal today. I would like to put her outside (30+ degrees out there). Is this prudent? Is keeping her in any benefit to her? I'd really like my kitchen back

If I have to, I might try that syringe method of extracting the fluid. NOT what I'm looking forward to. And I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid?

I would leave her in the kitchen until you can contact the vet. She is doing better now and you don't want her to relapse. In addition the temperature change would be very stressful to her.
