Hello everyone
So my last post was about my rooster ruru, unfortunately a few days after I made that post he passed away (we assume in his sleep as he went to sleep like normal and then never woke up) I have been watching all of my birds very closely as we still don’t know what caused his passing and he has been in close contact with quite a few other chickens while in recovery. None of my birds upstairs have shown signs and the only ones to have an issue is Titus (rurus son, 16 month old bantam rooster) who has a tiny bit of a swollen leg. This could just be me paranoid but since I have had both botulism and avian leukemia in my flock I am debating on getting a blood test done for him to make sure he doesn’t have anything that could lead to a similar fate as ruru. I have been deep cleaning the coop all day and Titus has shown no sign of uncomfort on the leg and still prances around crowing and showing off to the girls. I am planning to swap out their water with some water with poultry cell for extra vitamins incase it’s a deficiency. But I wanted an opinion on if the blood test would be good or a potential waste.
This is a video of him earlier today (he was watching Spider-Man on the tv)
