Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. DD won't be able to come home, the Army says Grandparents don't count for emergency leave.
We got home late last night. He was really sedated when we got there Fri. but he knew we were there and squeezed my hand. On Sat they didn't have him as sedated so he could open his eyes and focus on us. He keeps trying to talk and can't becuse of the large tube in his throat. The dr. says he is breathing 95% on his own so why he needs that is beyond me. He is combative because he wants that thing out so he can communicate with his family andsay his goodbyes if that be the case. He gets so frustrated because he can only move his lips and with that tube you can't even make out the words he's trying to form.
The lung cultures have to grow in the lab for a certain amount of time so we will not know any more until Tues or Wed. Then they will know what type of anti-biotics to give him For now, he is stable. He obviously does have an obstruction somewhere. They stopped the feeding tube because he wasn't going to the bathroom and his stomach was getting very distended. I am meeting up with my sister Mon. or tues and will either stay with her and travel back and forth or stay down there with her. Neither one of us has a laptop so I may be away for a few days or longer. Please continue your prayers.
Thank you
Monica
