I just started a new thread to make it easier...
So my hen started out with her comb going flat, and just seeming out of sorts. She's usually active, vocal, and will run behind me across the yard if I bring treats out. Today she lay down to eat a cucumber I brought out-- I've never seen any of my girls do that when there's competition. (The other 2 were going after the same piece so she got one to herself.) I thought maybe she was molting (and she is still losing feathers) but I know it's more than that. Her butt was really poopy today, and squishy.
I washed her off in a dishpan of warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishsoap and discovered that her belly is VERY swollen- like baseball size. Her comb is flatter than it was a couple of weeks ago. She has decreased her activity, although she is still eating. I don't think she's been laying eggs but I can't be sure because we have 2 Leghorns and somedays I get 1 egg and some, two, although I'm not the best at checking for eggs (whoops). So anyway, I am guessing she's not laying and my other Leghorn is still laying like clockwork. Here are photos from today.

From what I've read in searching the forums here, she's going to die. Please tell me that's not the case?
