THERE IS PIPPING... OR CHIRPING... WHATEVER YOU CALL IT! YAY!! I'm guessing this is internal pipping if you can hear the chirps, right?

I am so bummed I am work. My husband is keeping me updated. 8)

Alright.... I've got two external pips... one I can see definitely movement in as the chick nudges her beak at the hole. I have a 3rd that looks like it pipped on the underside of her egg... is that ok? I hear definite chirping though I can't tell if it's one or two chirping... haven't heard two chirps at the same time that I can tell.

What do you think about the hole on the underside?

I'd leave it be. It's usually not a problem, and once the first chick is out it'll probably kick the eggs all over the bator anyway!
Best thing to do now is sit on your hands and try not to worry.

The humidity was at 58%. I used a tube and syringe to put just a bit more water in under the wire and bring the humidity up to 65%.

I am going to be hands off now as I have to go back to work. I just snuck home during lunch while there wasn't much going on at work. But I know I'm going to get busy later today as I have two human mamas in early labor (I'm a midwife). I hope I'll come home to few baby chicks, too.

Gypsy07 asked, so here's what's in there... 3 silkies, 6 BBS americaunas, 1 light brahma bantam, 1 golden neck booted bantam, 1 large EE, and 1 silver spangled hamburg. It's 3 of the BBS americaunas who are pipped. A fairly random assortment. The silkies were 'due' to hatch first. One of those I suspected had stopped developing midway through, but I wasn't sure so put it in lockdown anyway....

Ok... will keep you all posted. Thanks for the moral support, too!!

for you!!! In my incubator, the first pips usually take the longest to hatch, drives me crazy to wait 12 plus hours. Happy Hatching!

Had to rename the post! Hope that doesn't confuse anyone!

Now 4 pipped, including one silkie egg. Yay!
