The other day I posted about my new duck wheezing and coughing and said that come Monday I would take her to the vet!
Well we're on Monday now! I wasn't sure if I was going to take her to the vets as she seemed to be improveing but then suddenly got alot worse so made a last minute decision to take her in.
The vet examined her, took her temperature and weighed her. She seems to have developed a bad case of the runs as well, which mixed with the other symptons made the vet suspect it was gastric related and more than likely gastric interitis. So she has had three injections of various different things.
Unfortunatly there are only two ways out of the currently situation...If it is bacterial then these injections and the medication she is on will cure it and she will be fine...If it is viral then there is no cure and she will eventually die
She is eating, drinking and chirping fine so it is simply a case of making her as comfortable and happy as possible while we sit through this!
