Hi all ive been waiting to see how the Tylan helped my chicken before I posted again. After a tiring week the Tylan seemed to have helped so I then gave my girls a week of Corrid & Matilda seems to be much better. Shes stopped limping & isnt sitting down so much. Shes running, jumping & flying and ive noticed that the poop has had days without any red stuff, but there still is a little bit now & again. Im hoping that all the medication has done them the world of good but only time will tell. My only concern now is that she is not a girl lol. My fiance thinks we have 2 cockerels. What do you think?

Would they ever get on? They hang around together all the time, but they sometimes square up to each other.
It depends. the biggest concern would be how many hens do you have? a good ratio is 1:10 to make sure the hens don't get over bred. (Their feathers get scratched off)
Then, you would have to make sure they didn't fight all the time. Usually 1 roosters is dominant, and will leave the other alone as long as they stay out of his way. Other times, they will fight all day.

Yes, two males.
Whether they fight and/or overbreed has nothing to do with ratio.
There really are no magic numbers.
The 'rooster' to hen ratio of 1:10 that is often cited is primarily for fertility efficiency in commercial breeding facilities.
It doesn't mean that if a cockbird has 10 hens that he won't abuse or over mate them.
Many breeders keep pairs, trios, quads, etc
It all depends on the temperaments of the cock and hens and sometimes housing provided.
Backyard flocks can achieve good fertility with a larger ratio.

I have 2 hens & 2 cockerels. I dont want to have any baby chickens & don't want my hens hurt by anyone cus their my babies. One cockerel doesnt really want to fight that much & is jumping up onto my 6 foot high fence. I would keep both if they got on & dont start crowing cus I have a small garden & the neighbours will go mad.
