Those of you who so kindly gave your time and attention to Jemima's condtion will be happy to know that she has recovered from her wounds well.
Here is what we did for her treatment:
Topical colloidal silver several times a day to fight infection,
One application of topical antibiotic ointment,
a warm clean bed in my parents' bathtub,
plenty of food and drinking water,
bathwater once a day after her wounds had a little time to heal.

The feathers in the area of the wound look a little wrinkly, as I cut them to keep the wound clear, but I think she is still the bell of the flock.
Thank you BYC folks!

Thank you! My parents were very supportive, even thought Jemima woke them up consistently at 6:00 am sharp

When my goose was attacked and mauled, we had to put him on systemic antibiotics. Topical wasn't enough because the vet felt that raccoons have so much infectious stuff in their saliva that it was too risky not to use systemic treatment.

How long ago was Jemima attacked? It sounds like she isn't showing any signs of internal infection, and that's great!

It has been 3 weeks and 6 days. She has already been reintroduced to the flock (females only) and is keeping up with them well, though her limp has not gone away.

If the limp is the only symptom she shows, and she is eating/drinking and "socializing" normally, she must have gotten past the worst part of her situation. The limp could be scar tissue inside, a broken bone that is still knitting, or something along those lines. Is it a pronounced limp or a slight one? Does she sit down frequently to get off it? Is it tender to the touch? Those are things that could tell you something about what is going on with her leg.

She doesn't sit down to rest any more than the others and I would say that it is sort of slight. Last I checked, the tissue on the leg was a bit tender, but it isn't deformed visibly. She doesn't seem to mind it.

It seems like she's on the mend. There may be some nerve and tissue damage still, which could cause pain and tenderness while healing. If she had internal-systemic infection it would already have showed up by now in her overall demeanor, eating and pooping. Please let us know how Jemima is doing over the next week or so. She sounds like a tough little duck.
