Mr. Roo was doing very good for awhile but has started limping, now he wont even use his right foot at all. He seems to get around ok,does have a little trouble but still makes it to the food and water. We caught him the other day to do another look over and we finally found what we think is the spot he was bitten by the snake. His feathers on his chest were kinda matted together and when we lifted the feathers up we found the sore. It looked very good tho-wasnt red, swollen or pus. The leg itself doesn't seem to give him any pain it is when we were feeling higher up into the muscle that he started moving around. We have had them on terramycin going on 8 days now,the package says we can do it 7-14 days. We are going to catch him again tonight and look at it again. What does everyone think about using a salve of some sort? We have some Watkins petro-carbo salve. It says it is soothing and protective and as we all know a chicken yard is not the cleanest place around. Any ideas would be welcome!
