I posted recently about finding several eggs a week under the roost. Someone suggested that sometimes when hens get startled in their sleep they lay from the roost. I thought about that & realized that our motion dector light over the bunny hutch shines right in the side window of the coop. The bunny likes to hop around & turn "his" light on several times a night. I decided to cover that side window with fabric & the eggs under the roost stopped!!!!!
Except this morning there was a blue egg under there but that's ok, it means my EE is FINALLY laying again after going broody in August & moulting after that, I was just so happy to see a blue egg!
