** UPDATE ** on the neighbors always wanting to borrow $$

well me and DH were outside talking with the "drug " neighbors - found out it was thier son that had the issue and he is gone byebye for alittle while hmmm wonder where LOL anyway we had a nice talk about the dogs trying to eat my chickens and they are going to be very caerful to keep them penned up.

also I found that the "mony" neighbors would go over there asking some money and cigarettes just about everyday ( thank god they only asked me once or twice a week )

I will bring up the idea of me showing the house and see what happens that way - maybe it would be better to get to know the new people before they move in.

stevie - of course i would pick you and your wife - so get packing and get down here they leave in 3 days LOL

I do feel bad for the kids I am hoping since the landlord is also a PE teacher that he might be able to suggest something to her about the way she is living and the kids.

but all that aside --- YEAH they are moving !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hubby and I have rental apartments and this statement is so true. We got tired of screening (bad) tenants ourselves so we tried a new method two years ago. We got a voicemail account through Voicenation and would advertise an apartment in the local paper. People would call the voicemail and receive a nice overview of the apartment and any amenities. Near the end of the voicemail recording, I would say that our company has a firm zero tolerance policy for drug and other illegal activity in and around our properties and that a background check and credit check may be performed. Often times, we just hear a *CLICK* on the voicemail message. Most who actually leave their contact information are people who we could reasonably rent to...and we don't bother with the credit or background check, it's just a scare tactic.

This whole situation just disturbs me. The losers in all of this is those poor kids. They have no role models to look up to and I just pray that they find someone that has a stable job and life to influence them and try to make a difference in their lives. Oh, and if she has no money for gas, she needs to stop smoking and blowing her money on that. She has no business with children.
