UPdate p 2How long will a chicken last without eating/drinking???

I don't want to be a dead horse, but are you SURE he's not injured? Sometimes wounds can be hard to find. It seems odd that he would still be shocky after this amount of time.
Good luck and I wish you both well. I hope he perks up soon.

Wilbur spent the day with me and we walked and talked and I dribbled electrolyte/vitamin water on his beak... annoying him. In the later afternoon I put him in his pen and he ate some of his pellets!!!

not a lot, but it's a start.

He walked himself up the ramp and roosted. I really hope he gets better.

I'll be looking for a few little gals to cheer him up. If you know of any good sized (BO's or the like) pullets/hens, please let me know.

thanks all

What did the doctor say? Just to let you know, I once had a hen that got attacked by a raccoon. We were right there in a jif to chase him away and she didn't seem to have any injuries upon close inspection. Months later she became sick and, as it turns out, she did have a bite that had festered and become infected. Just a heads up to be aware in case a similar thing happens to you.
