Good Morning all....here are some pictures as promised taken this morning! I took pictures until my fingers were frozen and this is what I came up with..... I am now NPIP certified, I do not have my Ohio number yet, should be coming in the mail next week! This is a rare and very limited offering of Silver Laced Brahma hatching eggs. I will be firing up the incubator very soon!!
In the true spirit of an auction I am starting this one out very low with NO reserve!!! They are laying well so I should be able to send a few extras. These birds are truly gentle giants and I plan to hatch out and raise as many as I can this year, it is just a little to early for me to start hatching so I will be offering these for the next couple of weeks only! I have been a die-hard Wyandotte fan for years, but these Brahmas have won me over.
My Brahma flock currently consists of 2 cockerels (who are getting the job done) and 4 pullets. So far all of the eggs I have cracked open except one have been fertile!!!! My pullets are laying beautiful good sized brown eggs.
All of my Brahmas have excellent foot feathering to the middle toe and have great "brow". The photos below are about 3 months old, so they have matured even more. Going through my photos I cannot find any of the boys, I will try to get a photo posted of them on Saturday.
Feel free to PM or Email me with any questions and I hope you will visit my website for more photos.
These eggs should go out on Tuesday morning (2-15-11) priority mail unless otherwise requested.
Eggs are packaged with care and individually bubble-wrapped and placed in the large USPS priority box padded with lots of shredded paper. I have had very good luck with this method.
Do to circumstances beyond my control, I cannot guarantee your hatch rate.
Thanks for you interest and have fun bidding!!

I would LOVE to see more pics of the parent birds and of the cockerel or cockerels you are using.

Hi Illia, I should be able to get more pics by Saturday. I am using 2 cockerels and I just don't like the pictures I have of them, they were still going through there gangly, t-rex almost scary looking stage. They are no longer the ugly ducklings!

Ok guys and gals- you can quit bidding now....

Yeah, it was a very long wait for that first egg. I put lights on a timer and have been gradually increasing there "daylight" hours by about 30 minutes a week.... this is the first time I have ever tried that....I can attest, it works!
How are yours doing? Did you get yours from Big Medicine also?

Thanks Phage and I couldn't agree with you more! lol
