UPDATE: Parakeet eggs didn't make it. =(

after this weather or not she hatching anything and give the poor thinga break if she dosnt as they are her first, I would get a nest box , usually keets wont nest on the floor they like a nest box. Good luck.

I'm so glad we got her some egg supplment! She will be fed extra so she has enough for herself and her babies. Stormy will help her feed them too.

I hope that they do hatch; she has been working so hard! Usually parakeets won't sit on her clutch if it's on the bottom of the cage. But not Carla! She's going to be a wonderful mother.

If these eggs don't hatch, we will give her a break, let her get more strength, and then we may try it again...maybe in a month or so. But if they do hatch, then she won't be hatching anymore for a while.

I really want these babies to hatch; Carla has been working so hard! She out of all our Parakeets deserves to have the experience of being a mother; after all her hard work, if non hatched, she would probably devastated.

But it's out of our hands; God is the only one who knows if the eggs will hatch, and he knows when they will hatch if they are going to. All we can do it hope, pray, take care of Carla, and make sure her and her eggs are safe. All Carla can do is keep sitting on them and doing what God and instinct intended her to do.

Wish us luck! We will see this weekend if any hatch!

oh no.....my dad just checked them and called me and said that Carla was off the nest and sitting on her perch...the eggs were scattered around in the bottom of the cage.

Two were in another corner and two were where she has been sitting. He felt them and they didn't feel too warm...we don't know what this means or what will happen...
he's looking at them now and there seems to be only 4 eggs! the finch egg is gone!!!!!

It's no where to be found....not looking good...
Carla is now sitting up on the perch, kissing and preening her mate, Stormy. Not sure if she's just taking a break or if she has given up....

I'm really losing hope now that we won't have any babies after all.....I guess i learned my lesson that when something seems too good to be true, it really IS too good to be true......
