I was going to put it in my sig, then realized after I'd created it that those sorts of things weren't allowed here, so it has to be a link. Oh well!

I forgot to post yesterday because I was so exhausted and frustrated when I came in . . . I took a good whack at the hardware cloth and got some up, then ran out of washers and so couldn't do nearly as much as I wanted to. But what I got done was enough to make me feel like ripping it apart with my teeth, so . . . let's just say that yesterday was NOT a good coop building day.

I hope today will be better because Hubby is here to help me out. He got more washers at the store today (bought all they had, hope they get more in soon!) and I hope that will be enough.

In theory, with the both of us working, we'll be able to finish installing the hardware cloth fence today. Which will be nice! I'd also like to cut out the hole in the floor for the chickens and put their ramp together. We'll see.

Hardware cloth is installed on all sides!!! Yahoo!!! Now we just need to get it up on the roof, and then we will be DONE with the hardware cloth, something that Hubby and I both want to get done FAST because we hate dealing with this wire and want it to be over quickly, LOL!

The roof is the only 'big' thing left to do, then it's making and installing the ramp, then the little stuff like roosts and latches on the doors, then to buy the feeders and so on, then, we're good to be inspected by AC.

Unfortunately we only have about 5 days to do stuff, then it's going to rain for the foreseeable future, so I don't know what's going to happen. Obviously we're going to have to cover the coop itself with plastic or a tarp, or something . . . I'll have to think on that. At least the rain is good for my garden, it got to 90' *again* today and my poor plants, even though I've been watering, just aren't happy.

Obviously when the roof is on, we won't worry about rain (or snow, or hail, for that matter!) but for now, we need to protect the interior of the coop somehow.

LOL, look back a couple posts (I know post #24 has the link, and a couple a bit later than that) and you will find a link to my webshots coop progress pictures.

I didn't take any pictures of the hardware cloth that we did today, though, because it disappears on camera! The next major photo update will probably come when we do the roof.

Aye to that!! Hubby wound up calling it 'devil cloth' by the end of today BUT we got ALL the hardware cloth up INCLUDING the 'roof' so no more hardware cloth, yay!

I managed to take a couple pictures today but will put them on my Webshots link later, right now the chicken is on the barbeque and we're expecting a few friends over.

Hubby and I are both so relieved that the hardware cloth portion of the coop is over!

Ok, I got the two pictures of what we did yesterday up on my Webshots page. Here's the URL again, for those of you who don't want to try to search for it:

The new pics are at the end of the album, on page 2.

I have no idea how much we're going to get done on the coop this week, the forecast is calling for a lot of rain. In theory we'll be able to rip the lumber and so on in the garage, we'll see, I guess!

I am at that point in this process where I really, really, really, really, REALLY want to get the coop done and get this over with! I'm sure it's a common feeling . . .

its a common feeling alright, Im feeling it, and Im not having to deal with ANY of the problems you are, Ive had dry sunny 70=85 deg weather to boot and I want it finished!!! these things always take so much longer that you think, but its fun too! Cant wait to see pics of it finished and your new babies!
