Just to provide an update to this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=211838

The
neighbor paid for my birds, well the cost of replacing them anyhow. I ordered 25 birds from McMurrary. They will be here this week.

Of the 4 birds that were left alive, I have 3 that are fine and are living in their coop. I have 1 Buff O who is coming long nicely, she is standing on her bad leg and hopping around. She has not straightened out her toes yet. She does not like the wrap we put on her leg, we have taken it off and let her be. she has flown out of the box we are keeping her in but seems to tolerate it overnight.

Thanks to all of you who responded.

I'm glad you were able to be compensated in some way. Hopefully they will keep their dog away from you now.

I am happy to hear your injured birds are doing well. They are amazingly resilient if given a chance. It sounds like things worked out well all the way around. It's nice to hear your neighbor was willing to accept part of the blame and replaced the birds you lost. What ever happened to the dog? I know you said it was never coming back to your house, but what did the neighbor end up doing with it?

I have not seen the dog in a week, I think she must have taken it somewhere else. I think that was the best thing she could have done.

I'm so happy she paid to replace your birds and that the injured ones are doing well. My neighbor is a caveman and I have to take him to small claims court for my replacement. I'll let you know what happens in DECEMBER! At least your neighbor has some sense of responsibility.

Best of luck with your new little ones. Keep us posted and I would love to see a picture when you have them settled.
