Update to: Put my healthy and beautiful rooster down?

Take a look at Maple Farm Sanctuary in Mendon, MA. I don't know if they would accept him, but if they did he'd have a lifelong home and you'd never have to worry that he'd be put in a soup pot.

Ha! Now these are some pretty nifty indoor chicken houses! I'm partial to the last one. The clean lines, the dual function... I appreciate that you sent these, but I have to say that for me there would be a number of challenges with inviting him inside 1) my house is 810 sq ft, that's 810; 2) he would still be alone and I'm not sure he'd be happy; 3) I have three cats, although they'd probably get used to the idea; and 4) I am just not sure I am prepared to take something like this on. My biggest concern is that he'd still be without chicken friends. But you never know, I have been known to do some pretty out-of-the-box things! Thank you.

I'm not sure I'm posting this right, but I just want to thank everyone who replied to my post. I appreciate it.
