She is doing great. Her feathers are growing back and she looks great.I am still trying to decide whether to take out the stitches or not. Any advice in that area??????
Our partridge cochin got the top of her neck ripped open and stuff was popping out, we packed it with neosporin and it has completely healed, first got a black scab then the scab fell right off and her feathers are growing back. It is amazing how fast they heal up.
I agree i would not stitch that one, just neosporin and keep her away from the others for a bit.

The owner already stitched her up and nursed her back to health. I applaud the route she took, I wouldve done the same.
As for the stitches I agree with the previous post, 10 to 14 days should be plenty, dont want them to get stuck in the healed flesh, if they're stuck due to scab dab with qtip and warm water around stitch to loosen it up enough to remove. Glad shes recovering well, she has a great owner!! Right on!
P.s love to see some pics when you have time
I got new pics today, I will upload them soon. Carmel is doing great.I think the thing that kept out the infection was liquid silver. It helps heal everything.
