Updated Barred. Rock pics

I posted these guys a month ago and just wanted to give y'all another look so I can move on. Best guess on age is 22 weeks.
#1 is starting to grow some new feathers on it neck and sides. Cockerel right?
#2 is a smaller bird supposedly from the same hatch.
Neither has shown any rooster behavior except they have squared off once or twice,only ending in dirty looks though. Sorry if this is obvious but I'm still learning. Thanks in advance.

It looks like a rooster to me.

They're roosters, but not pure barred Rocks. They might have one Rock parent, but they're mixed breeds.

Thanks ya'll. On the # 1 bird,those pin feathers coming in on the neck and sides,what's the proper tem for those?Just for future reference.

A pure Barred Rock rooster would be lighter in color, with less messy looking markings.

i really need to figure out what my last chicken is so someone please check out my thread and look on page 2! its a small chicken. when we got it, it could fit through chicken wire. please tell me what it is! link below:

Those feathers that grow long and pointy on males are hackle feathers on the neck, and saddle feathers on the back, in front of the tail.
