I didnt hatch mine- its a double yolker and really didnt think the prognosis would be good. Ive been harassed a few times trying to get me to incubate it! Has anyone ever done this? We usually eat it or give it away. She lays quite a few of them. (about one a month)

I have a hen that lays huge eggs like that on a regular basis. I can't believe she doesn't go on strike. That has got to hurt. Most of the time they are like a double yolker but, once in a while it's like to regular eggs together or once in a while triple yolks!

Speckledhen tried it once and keep a post on here about it. It did not end well. Let me see if I can find a link for the post for you to read.....

I too get at least 2 eggs that are in the XXJumbo size every month or so. I get them from my EE and my SS. I have to leave them in a small basket in the frig. They don't fit in the egg cartons. I do feel really bad for the hens that lay them

I get one of those from my Leghorns about every other week. And yesterday, we got one from a Welsummer. The Welsummer is young, so I bet it is a double yolker, but the Leghorns lay single yolkers. I like to weigh them on a postal scale. The record is a Leghorn at 3.2 ounces, with the Welsummer coming in second at 3.1 ounces. Does anyone else weigh theirs?
