Updated pics of my little flock

Dandelion - lead hen
Cotton - Dandelion's sister and little cuddle monster

Lizzie (Elizabeth) - prima donna and worm addict
Mr Darcy - a little bit clueless, very earnest bless him
Napoleon, head rooster and real gent

We did have a third rooster - the plan was to choose out of him and Napoleon who to keep and who to give away. Sadly before we could find him a new home he and Napoleon got into a fight that left them both fairly severely hurt. So we culled the instigator as he was the worst hurt and also attacked the hens as well as other roosters.

It looks like one of the girls is toying with the idea of going broody. She is fluffed up and sitting on a couple of eggs, she came out to eat but didn't leave the pen just gorged on food. Was happy to come off the eggs but eager enough to head back on them. Have left them under her and will see how it is tomorrow. She's done this a few times now where she's sat for a few days and lost interest so I don't know what's going to happen - can this be common in a young hen?

If it makes any difference it's Dandelion one of my Polish Crested girls and around 14-15 months old

First let me say you have very beautiful birds!!! With the young hen who has gone broody on you, I wouldn't think it's too early....if she has the "instinct" to go broody more power to her I say! Good luck and keep us up-to-date if she hatches chicks...woot!!
