I had a small 5 acre parcel back in the 90s and we had 2 pigs, 50 meat birds, 1 beef calf, 1 turkey, and about 80 rabbits we would raise and process for our families larder. We also had a jersey that we would milk mornings for the family and put a calf on in the evenings, and about 8 laying hens, and some fancy bantams and tumbling pigeons.
Its 20 years later and now all I have is a 4 x 8 shed in town, but I am going to get a nice hutch and raise some chickens and get my daily egg ration
Also I used google to search for chicken ordinances in Pekin ILand found myself here at this site, but the ordinance has changed slightly. Current law allows up to 12 rabbits and up to 12 chickens (not 15.) Also there is now a coop restriction that states that the coop must be more than 15 feet from the nearest property line.
I wasn't sure how to update your ordinance page page, so I thought I would mention it here as I am almost late for work and wanted to let you know about the new changes.
