We have an LG incubator w/egg turner and fan but my hatch rate isn't great. (My own eggs, both quail & chicken.)

Considering upgrading.

What would be a good step up from LG incubators?

OR has someone synthesized the incubating info here so I can find out where I'm going wrong.

You should go to the LG thread. I'll go find the link and re-post it. When I had to get an LG locally because I had no time to wait for another hovabator, I just went there and got (and gave) lots of tips. Great thread for LG.

That said, if you need an easier to use incubator, that give better results with much less headache, go get a hovabator Genesis.

Best LG bator thread!

I read all of this (until the last month or two) and man, it was full of very useful info, and it really helped me. I use the sponge, and I be sure to fill the bator, as that really helps it hold temperature better. I hot melted on a clear plastic disc (1" firm clear plastic round) to the temp adjustor which allows me to make very tiny changes, the original way was impossible.

Good Luck, and I really hopes this helps you.
