Hello I am incubating silckie bantams. I am on day 21 and have not had any movement, pipping or chirping going on. So lastnight I cheated and candled my eggs. I still seen movement in all the eggs which got me thinking mybe my temperature was reading wrong. After adding a new thermometer to my incubator I realized my temperature has been reading about 8degrees low this whole time!!!

I was upset but happy the chicks are still moving and alive. Now my question is. Is it ok to up the temperature in my incubator to where it should be. Like I said we are at day 21 I just don't want to shock the chicks with the increase of temperature. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

You can safely raise the temp to normal incubation temperature, 99 to 100 should be fine.

Don't assume your new thermometer is accurate, either. You can check to see how accurate it is, Google Calibrating a Thermometer. You might consider buying aBrinsea Spot Check, they are very accurate (to within 0.2 degrees) and have a rapid readout.

I actually put two new thermometers in and they both are reading the same

I upped my temp so it's going in between 99 and 100 degrees. But I am going to look into the one you said. And yes the one reading wrong is a brand new one also. I will make sure to us more then one at a time even if it is brand new.
