I do not blame you for being hurt and feeling used, friends just do not do that...... Trust me I got used recently by someone that I thought was a friend,luckily mine was easier to deal with....

You need better neighbors, guy that bought the foreclosed place next to ours is AWESOME! He is clearing it to seed and eventually run a few cows on, won't even be living there, but for us keeping and eye on things, while they are clearing that, they are clearing ours too.

If she won't sell to you, unfortunately there is not much you can do.

Something interesting... I went into a local gas station last night, and a neighbor works there (I'll call her Jane). I mentioned to her that this neighbor is selling the property (I'll call her Sally) and that someone was going to put a home on it. Janes jaw just dropped. Apparently, Jane was doing some work on her property, and Sally approached her in church to ask what they were doing. The she told Jane that she just wanted to be sure that they weren't having another home put in down there 'because it will raise our property taxes'. Yet now Sally is selling her property to someone who is putting a home on it? I really think I need to just distance myself from Sally...

She sounds a bit selfish and greedy (or at the least, not very discreet).

Is there any hope at all that you can buy the property?

Were you able to confirm what "Sally" said to you about the buyers? There would need to be permits filed and approved with the county!

i'm sure they are doing everything required, including the fact that they changed the rules in 2005 so she has to have the property surveyed.

Kinda funny, I wrote a post last June about the work we were doing and how great this neighbor is. That is part of what upsets me... I trusted and liked her.

Sounds to me that she was just using you all along to improve the value of her property. Once it was done, she sold it out from under you for the money.
