Upset at the chicken house

Last night when I went to close up my young chicks I heard a shriek come from the little chicks. When I looked in I saw my comet with an attachment!! At first it stimied me then i got busy catching her. It seems the sticky tape thing that I hung in the coop for flys had somehow stuck to her. Everywhere she went that thing chased her. She was frantic. She has always been my gentlest chick and now she is scared of me. when i took that thing loss from her it brought feathers and another shriek last night so I can't much blame her for being scared. It was pitful and funny watching when I was trying to catch her. Gee I didn't know she could move that fast. From now on the sticky traps will not be within fly range of the chicks. Gloria jean

there's another thread somewhere discussing removal of fly tape from chickens and getting the sticky off them. So don't feel too bad, it apparently is a common problem! I think various things such as peanut butter were used to get the glue off.

Most people who keep chickens eventually learn to deal with flies in other ways. Fly tapes in the coop = not good.
