We had to say goodbye to Cheese on Friday
As many of you know, Pekin ducks are usually bred for meat and have a lot of issues. Cheese had a lot of neurological issues and I would have to carry her to the coop, and back inside at night. Friday morning she jumped out of my hands and broke her tibia.. I took her to an bird and exotic animal vet.. And the best thing I decided was putting her down to not suffer anymore. The procedure/ surgery and antibiotics that the vet told me would help her weren’t a 100% garentee that she would be better. So I put her down and cried like a baby.. I hurried her in my backyard and will miss her

Thank you... I’m getting another baby duck this Friday and she’ll be a Rouen, my other duck Quackers is so lonely now

It is always painful to lose one of your babies, especially one of the "special" ones who needed more love than the others. Thanks for sharing photos of beloved ducks. Hope Quackers appreciates the new friend. Sometimes, they grieve a bit first.
