Hi. I have a chick that has pipped, and I can see the beak. The chick is obviously upside down. I would think this would make it hard to get out. Should I roll the egg over? The chick pipped about 11 hours ago and not much progress. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

On my last hatch about a week ago I had 2 that were upside down. I tried hatching with egg cartons so I was a little worried about them not being able to get out so I took them out of the carton and laid them on their sides. The chicks came out fine just took longer. One took almost 24 hours,I was really worried about that one fearing it would be shrink wrapped when I got up the next morning but was relieved to see a healthy chick instead. Good Luck!

same here. I even helped/saved one that was 1/2 shrink wrapped after a long 24 hour hatch. I helped it out of it's shell, then took a paper towel with warm water and wet the shrink wrap. Came right off after about 5 minutes. I put her back in the bator, and she is healthy and strong.
But to answer the op's question. I've had this a few times. It takes longer to hatch, but all works out in the end.
