Upside down?

Is it normal for the chick to be upside down piping out? Never had one do this? Does it happen often? Its beak is out and its upside down- still alive

Not sure what you mean by upside-down...
Chicks hatch with their heads tucked up under their wing, so they often look upside-down. Is that what you mean?

the only survivor of a badly set hatch was piping upside down ie out of the small end of the egg and didn't seem to have room to swing it's head to zip.
after 24hrs of no zipping I ended up rescuing it with a leatherman.
