UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

OK, inspection for NPIP done, house insurance inspection done, trip to Sam's club made, clothes washed, dishes washed, Jeremy is putting ribs in the oven, and I am surfing on here. All in all, a lot accomplished today.

On the NPIP front, boy it really doesn't apply to the back yard flock owner much. She was going thru the book with us, and there is a lot that has nothing to do with a small home grown farm. We have to wait until we take the Poultry Technician class to submit the blood, because the state doesn't do the testing in PA. Either you have to take the class to do it yourself, or you have to pay someone to do it. Tech class is the 9th of Nov, so hopefully soon after that we will be certified.

The lady that did our inspection had never seen Polish before and loved them. She had also never seen d'Uccles. She said she spends most of her time in big hatcheries doing inspections.
