I have 2 RIR roosters that I have to re-home. It's breaking my heart but I have 4 roosters and 8 hens and the poor little hens are being marauded by the raging rooster hormones.
They are 17 weeks old and they are production RIR that came from TSC. They are very healthy, beautiful boys and I don't want to get rid of them, but I have to for my little hens sakes.
I would like to have anything you offer to help offset the cost of the food and time I have put in them. But please, they must be for pets, not for eating. If I could stand for them to be eaten, I'd eat them myself.
It's silly, but I'm so sad I have to get rid of them. They are hand fed and follow me like puppies. They are also the first chickens I've ever had, so perhaps that's why it's so hard.
