Thanks everyone for the welcomes and the advice. I have really been enjoying this site and have found it invaluable as a first-time chicken keeper.
My apologies if I sounded annoyed in my first post - I was just put out about the rules and worried about Loreen, our cockerel. I do understand the need to keep spammers away. My usual instinct is to refrain from cluttering up boards unless I have a good reason to post, and I don't spend a whole lot of time on the internet, so I guess I'm not used to boards that encourage frequent posting.
If anyone has any advice about where to look (on BYC and elsewhere) in the effort to re-home Loreen, I'd appreciate it.
