Urgent advice needed hatching chick

No blood from what I can see no šŸ™ that's the membrane that appears tk be stuck to the chick. Kicking its one leg out alot but beak hasn't moved
That sounds okay. It's a little shrink-wrapped, but as long as it can breathe and move, it should be okay. You can pull that membrane off its head if it's causing him to be stuck.

Beak is at the top, membrane is to the side, I'll try and pull it carefully off, thank you so much for your constant help 😊

I'm nearly as anxious as you are. I want to see this chick out! It's probably going to have eggshells and some sticky stuff on it. You can pick the shells off, but the rest will work its way off in a couple of days. Once I tried to rinse a chick in warm water then blew it dry. It didn't help a thing.

His head was stuck solid, membrane was rock hard around that area. Ive just peeled it bavk from around his head and over his eye and he's straightened out, he's breathing but not sure he will make it. It had pooed in its shell aswell and there was a bit of blood under its belly

I didn't pull that bit off as saw blood and didn't know what to do for the best. He's chirpping and wriggling around on its side at the moment. It's other side is very dry and shell looks stuck to it solid, shall I peel the rest of the shell off now?

It should be his butt still in the shell, but if he's out of that, then yes, get the rest off of him. If it's just the butt in the shell, I'd leave it in case he wasn't done absorbing the yolk.

Emily, I know you're busy with this chick and doing your best. I have to get to bed before the birds start chirping outside. I'll check this thread first thing I do when I get up.

Wishing you the best of luck with this one and all of your remaining eggs and new chicks! ā¤ļø Congrats on those chicks!

Aw thank you! He's completely out of the shell, is alive and wriggling around a bit on his side but not looking too good šŸ˜” almost looks like his wing is stuck on his one side, when I touched it whatever the goo is was rock solid and there's patches of that hard stuff all over him. He's warm and safe so just going to let him rest and hope he perks up. No movement on the other eggs but the other 2 chicks are full of life and keeping us smiling! x

Such good news!

This last one of mine had a wing stuck to himself. He stood up with one wing. I looked him over to see if I could do anything and found a little bit of something I could pick off. It loosened its wing, but didn't free it. I just left him in the incubator like that and he slept all night. (They're in our bedroom, so I'd know.)

The next morning, he was still sleeping but I thought he was dead so tapped the incubator. He woke up, and both wings were loose but his poor head was stiff. I left him in the incubator the rest of the day and he slept most of it.

It only takes a day or two for that gunk to wear off or flake off these chicks. It's like that stuff is glue.

Thank you, I have another egg which I can just see it's beak poking out, how do I successfully get the egg put that I need to assist without doing damage to the other one? Sorry I'm inexperienced, this is only my 2nd ever hatch so really appreciate any help.
What does zipping mean? I have never hatched any chicks.
