Hello all,

I am incubating some eggs, and when I candled them today I saw a weird curly line in the egg. It is not a vein, it moves around, I am assuming it moves as the chick moves, but I don't know.

I read that you cannot see the umbilical cord in an incubating egg, so it isn't that, right?

I don't know how many eggs it is in, but the main ones it is in are polish eggs (pic 1). There is one that is an olive egger egg (pic 2). These eggs aren't from my chickens, and the polish and OE eggs are not from the same person.

Any help would be appreciated!

Can’t give any insight, never hatched or anything, just sort of curious too :pop

What day are you on?

Are you sure you saw it move? I'd have thought the start of a blood ring. I guess candle it again before lockdown to be sure.

@GlicksChicks Are you sure it’s not the umbilical cord? I had a budgie chick hatch yesterday, and I could clearly see its cord moving when the chick was active during incubation.
