URGENT- egg bound?!

Hi everyone,
I just noticed my Bantam Ameraucana hen gasping for breath, her tail is down and she has a bit of white, watery poo stuck to her feathers around her vent. I'm not sure what's wrong with her, any help would be very appreciated. She seemed fine this morning.
I have a video of her but don't know how to share it.

She has been laying recently so is it possible she is egg bound?

Have you given her a warm bath? they usually like that. Hold her in a towel afterwards to soak up most of the moisture then a blow dryer on low.

It's almost never possible to tell for certain if a hen is eggbound unless you see the egg stuck in the cloaca. But you can safely treat for it regardless.

Get a calcium supplement, calcium citrate works fastest, but any of them, including Tums will work. Give one tablet directly into her beak. She will not choke. Don't crush or mix in food. This will stimulate contractions to push out a stuck egg.

I gave her a Tums and just took her out of a bath. I will try to post the video right now through You Tube.

Make sure that you get her dry in a towel and blow dry so she doesn’t chill. The calcium is the best thing to do when you suspect egg binding. You may put them on a warm towel instead of a soak, which sometimes can be so stressful, it might push one over the edge. Let us know if she lays an egg.
