One of our chicks got attacked by a mange fox. My mom found him asleep in the coop after mauling our hens to death.
One of the chicks was bit in the backside. There's no blood and the body isn't punctured, but the tailbone is exposed and sticking out. He wings were messed up as well.
When we first picked her up she was standing, trying to walk, eyes open and chirping. We soaked her bottom in warm water to get rid of any debris and rubbed the area with Neosporin. We went to take her to the local bird vet but they said they weren't accepting chickens due to the virus going around.
She is now resting in a blanket under a heat lamp. She is no longer chirping or able to hold herself up, but she is breathing. We tried getting her to eat or drink but she won't.
Is our chick a lost cause or is there any hope she will make it?
