My hen, Waffles, has been brooding some eggs, and her first egg finally hatched this morning... it hatched with it's yolk sack unabsorbed, but thankfully, it absorbed completely. However when I went to go check on it again, I found a medium-sized lump on the left side of it's abdomen, with what appears to be it's intestines or maybe another organ protruding from a hole in the middle of the lump. It is acting a bit lethargic, it's still cheeping though and opening it's eyes, but I have no idea what to do... I would love some advice, and is it possible that he'll live? Thanks in advance for any advice, it's much appreciated!!!

Here are some pictures of where the organs are protruding (he's falling asleep in the picture) :

First of all I Love your bracelets! So back to the chicken.I have had similar problems twice and they never made it(I had one who had it it very mildly but I gave him to a friend). If he’s acting weak I’d say he’s definitely not going to make it.Thats so weird though that he absorbed the yolk and then the intestines came out.

Thank you for the information! I'm sorry you chicks didn't make it! It's very unfortunate he might not live, I'm hoping he might though, if I can do anything for him! Thank you for telling me!

First glance, I thought it was a umbilical cord, but no, try a vet maybe? I doubt she will make it sorry!
I wish I could, the vet is a while's away, and I don't think I'll be able to take him in time. Thank you for the advice though!!!

I looked at him again and I think that after the yolk absorbed, his intestines came out... 😭
