URGENT CHICK HELPOUT

Last helpout (2 years ago) the chick had made a hole the size of a grape and stayed there for a day, started smelling, membrane started getting dry. The helpout chick is out of his egg completely right now. I don't think it's bleeding. Not a ton of blood but enough to worry you.

Oh! I thought it was still in the egg! Where is the blood coming from?

Possibly the navel is still slightly open? That's a common spot to see a little bleeding. Just give it time to recover and hopefully she'll be ok.

Yes the blood was from the string coming out of the navel. As soon as it detached from the egg he stopped bleeding. Update: I make peeping noises to him and he responds. The other chick peeps or gets close to him and he stands up stumbles around then sleeps again. I think he might make it.

He moves around/peeps like a normal newly hatched chick but then when he rests it looks like he is near death. Barely breathing......etc. But then fine. I have to leave now, I'll be back in 2 hours.........crossing my fingers

It sounds like it will be ok! Fingers crossed you come home to a fluffy recovered chick!

Yay! i returned from my trip into town and he seems %100 better! It's a miracle...........
