Urgent! Heavy smoke and want to move pigeons on eggs indoors

I think they will be okay outside. Pigeons are tough. But if you want, put the eggs in a bator and put fake eggs under the parent and move them inside in a car carrier or something. If they continue to sit, (which they might) give them their eggs back. I hope this helps!

Hi guys! There is an outrageous amount of smoke outside right now, so bad that I can barely see the neighbor's house down the hill and I would love to move my pigeon loft indoors for a few days until the air is clearer. The loft is small enough to be able to put the whole thing indoors, but I'm worried my pair on eggs will abandon them, what do you all think? My dad, brother and I would just pick the whole thing up and move it 30 ft inside the house so it wouldn't take more than a couple minutes. We need to do this in the next hour or so before my dad and brother leave to get away from the smoke since it's making them so sick. Thank you so much for any help!!

I think it's best to save your birds by bringing them in if you can. They will always lay more eggs. Even if you can't bring in the whole loft you could temporarily keep them in wire dog crates or cages. Bring their nests with their eggs and some pairs may keep sitting. Good luck and stay safe!

Can you get a bird cage from the store temporarily, then use fake eggs, and then hatch these in the incubator. If you must keep them outside, for sure cover them.

It's mostly an issue of car space, I'm prioritizing animals that need care everyday to bring with me, I might be able to fit the pigeons in a cat carrier in the car, but they'll be stuck in that for the next several days. I don't think I could leave them with enough food/water in a dog crate inside the house for the time I'll be gone. This is what the smoke looks like here at the moment

Possibly, and looking at the car I think they'll fit, would the babies live without crop milk if I hand raised them? I doubt if I bring them that the parents would keep sitting on the eggs. And I also got the go ahead from who I'll be staying with to bring them if need be so that's good lol

You could rig something up,in your room for them to stay in? Hope they will be ok.

It's also probably worth mentioning that they're all still acting completely normal, preening, arguing about if one couple gets to eat from the feeders near the nest, etc. And I have had birds out in previous years' smoke without any issue

If you are leaving, I would bring them with you... it is very hard to hand-raise from day one. I recommend you do your own research as if not feel authorized to give you advice, as I have never hand raised from day one.
