I just found a 12 week-old chick that disappeared a several days ago stuck behind the nest box shelf. She is very lethargic and must be very dehydrated but she is alive. I have been wetting her beak with vitamin water but she won't open her beak much and is too lethargic to get up and drink. What should I do??

Oh, that is sad. Get a dropper and syringe, and start giving her vitamins and electrolytes by opening her beak, a couple of drops at a time. Don't give her any food, just electrolyte water until she gets rehydrated. Wishing you good luck.

Right now I would try to get in as much as possible until she will drink on her own. She sounds like she will need constant care today. When she becomes more alert and can stand, I would then offer it in a tiny bowl held up to her beak. Don't worry about food today, but if she drinks a lot, maybe this evening offer her some egg or wet chick feed.
