Urgent Help Please! This Spider Killed 2 Chickens Already!

thailand...i think we have talked before. I really think it is the malaria...once the load gets too large, the outcome is quick and rapid from loss of oxygen. I'm so sorry :( That spider would cause me to run screaming but, I think it is probably harmless to your chickens.

Hi sorry late getting back to you they are very low in poison as are all spiders of Thailand. I see local kids pick them up and walk round with them on there shoulders and I have one about that size in the house somewhere. But we do not know how this will effect chickens , I would think this is a one off thing and if you kept chickens for the next 20 years will most likley never happen again.
I did not bother with them in the end I took some Barred Plymouth rock instead and I am thrilled with the results best chickens Ive ever kept. Eggs and chicks everwhere its great and there such a good looking bird, but my mate has just offered me some columbian Wyndottes so I may be building yet another pen.
just to keep you up to date
I think we are running about 10 easter eggers, 10 BPR, 20 White Leghorn, 20 red turkeys, 50 rhode island reds, 4 indian runner ducks, 4 geese, 50 cambells, and about 20 native Thai chickens , two rhea and Im just hatching some emu
We also have 4 cows and a dog two great kids who love the life we built here in Thailand
