Urgent hen

i built a new nesting box yesterday and the hen laid an egg in there this morning but is staying in there and crowing like crazy what does this mean?

My hens before they lay...they do the laying song...then they go into the nest...and lay....most times once they lay...they stay in there a while...kiind of like they are recovering...and then after wards they also sing....

now I do have one two hens...EE's that once they lay or if there's another egg in the nest box, they will go and sit on them, and start to rock on them...and get angry if you want to get the eggs...its part of becoming broody I guess.

yea its weird she was like screaming and then she got out of that nest box and went to the main one

A cackle? A laying Song? Gee I wish my hens would come hang out with your girls and learn some new notes!!

Mine announce thier achievment with loud peircing SQUAWKS over and over and over!! The note is very similiar to the alarm squawk when the fox comes, so I go running out there every day, and am ready to strangle the hen!!

Sure wish she would learn a different song!!
